Main directories:

external: contains external IDL code, such as Geopack and CDAWlib from NASA
general: general functions for tplot and SPEDAS
projects: each project/mission has each own directory, with the functions for loading data specific to each mission
spedas_gui: functions that create the SPEDAS GUI
