[Spedas-list] GUI issues when running SPEDAS on MacOS Tahoe

Dear SPEDAS users,

For those of you running SPEDAS on MacOS, there's an issue running the
SPEDAS GUI that affects MacOS Tahoe users. The GUI panel may show as
all-black on the initial startup of spd_gui, or after resizing the GUI
window.

One workaround is to minimize, then restore, the affected window.

The issue seems to be an incompatibility between MacOS Tahoe and the
XQuartz library. This means that a fix will likely have to come from the
MacOS or XQuartz developers, rather than the SPEDAS or IDL developers.

Previous releases of MacOS (Sequoia and earlier) are not affected, so if
you're running an older MacOS version, you may want to hold off on
upgrading to Tahoe for a while.

Cheers,
